As an athlete you can train your body, your craft and your mind. We spend hours working on our fitness (strength, endurance, flexibility, speed, agility or power). And hours honing our craft: that's the technique for our chosen sport and our sports IQ. The most under trained piece: our minds. Mental training is what sets athletes apart and gives them an edge and a positive experience.

Breakaway Coaching works with athletes of all ages (as well as parents and coaches) to help give athletes a positive experience, build resiliency and mental toughness.

Endurance Athlete Mental Training

Mental training starts with some inner work. It’s taking the time to contemplate and understand what is important to you, what you care about, who you are and who you want to be.

Inner work demands time to be alone with our thoughts to allow the exploration and building of strong frameworks around our personal values and beliefs. When we move through life aligned with these frameworks we are showing up being the best we can be: the best version of ourselves.

The benefits of inner work include:

  • Increased self-esteem and confidence

  • Resiliency

  • Ability to learn from failures / mistakes

  • Clear goal setting

  • Actions aligning with your values

  • Improved performance in all areas of life

  • Living in the moment skills

  • Appreciation and gratitude

  • More optimistic and positive
